Have you ever wanted to beat a Tampa Bay Buccaneer in football? Now is your chance to get some bragging rights on a Pewter Pirate at Bucs safety Will Allen’s Pros vs. Joes Competition on Friday, September 25 at 8:00 p.m. at the Home Theater Gallery in Tampa at 3300 S. Dale Mabry Highway.
Of course the football that will be played is Madden 10, in addition to other sports games. Allen and several of his Buccaneers teammates, including Michael Clayton, Barrett Ruud, Elbert Mack, Sabby Piscitelli, Mike Nugent, Josh Johnson, Earnest Graham and others are the “pros” that will be competing against the “average Joes” that register. The competition, which includes Xbox, Wii Sports, Pop-A-Shot and simulated golf among other sports games, is limited to just 30 participants and the entry fee is $75.
“This is a chance for Bucs fans to go head-to-head with Bucs players and try to get some bragging rights,” Allen said. “It will be a fun time. That’s why I wanted to do this. It gives us a chance to mingle with the fans and give back to the community. And it gives our fans the chance to get one up on some pro athletes.”
Spectator tickets are being sold for $40 with proceeds from the event benefitting the Will Allen Foundation. Tickets can be purchased at www.WillAllen26.com.
The Will Allen Foundation has developed the “Quest For Real Life Success” after school program that assists students for life after high school by preparing them academically for college and for job/career opportunities, in addition to developing character and integrity.
“The event is about giving back to the kids and giving back to the community,” Allen said. “I’m a big advocate of education and the more people we have come out, the more support we get. I’m looking forward for all the Bucs fans, Pewter Report readers and my teammates to come in get personal with us and have some fun.”
