According to Bucs head coach Bruce Arians, return man Jaydon Mickens isn’t the only Tampa Bay player dealing with an injury. OLB Jason Pierre-Paul has joined Mickens on the injury report as day-to-day with a shoulder injury. Pierre-Paul played 61 of 72 possible snaps on Sunday against the Falcons.
#Bucs HC Bruce Arians says that Jaydon Mickens was out with a hip injury and JPP was out with a shoulder injury. They’re both day-to-day.

Mickens is nursing a hip injury that knocked him out of the second half in Week 2. He was replaced by Antonio Brown, who was placed on the COVID list on Wednesday. If Mickens and Brown can’t play in Week 3, rookie Jaelon Darden would likely make his NFL debut. Darden impressed during training camp, but struggled in his brief preseason action.
Pierre-Paul’s injury was unknown until Wednesday, but he’s no stranger to the injury report. After being listed daily last year with a knee injury, Pierre-Paul cracked the report before Week 2 with a hand concern. The veteran pass rusher is still searching for his first sack of the season.
Given Pierre-Paul’s propensity to play through discomfort, it would be surprising to see him miss Sunday’s game. Outside of his broken back in 2019, Pierre-Paul hasn’t missed a game since 2016. If he can’t play, rookie Joe Tryon-Shoyinka would make his first NFL start.
The 2-0 Bucs travel to Los Angeles on Sunday to play the 2-0 Rams in a 4:25 pm EST kickoff.
