Quarterback

Most impressive: Baker Mayfield | QB | Oklahoma

Baker Mayfield was not only the most impressive quarterback this week, but was also in consideration for the most impressive player overall. Mayfield did not arrive with the other players, as he was late to Mobile to be with his family for a medical emergency – reports say he will also not be playing in the game due to that family matter. However, for the time Mayfield was there, he was on point. He threw the ball well and most importantly showed the Broncos coaches that he could play from under center, if called upon.

Most disappointing: Kurt Benkert | QB | Virginia

Benkert was my most disappointing because he has some game tape (the Miami game in 2017) that is just incredible. But, on the other hand, he has tape (the Navy game from 2017) that is nearly undraftable. I was hoping to see more of the Miami-Benkert this week, but I really didn’t. He had the potential to be the No. 3 quarterback behind Mayfield and Josh Allen, but he didn’t take it by the horns.
