It’s no secret that Buccaneers wide receiver isn’t a fan of President Donald Trump.

Evans was one of the players who decided to kneel for the National Anthem during the 2017 season in protest of police brutality. He and fellow wide receiver DeSean Jackson knelt during the Bucs away game in Minnesota with a knee on the ground and a hand over their heart. After that game they stood with the rest of their teammates for the remainder of the season.

What seemed to spark Evans and Jackson taking action themselves was when President Trump came out and publicly stated that NFL players should not have a choice in the matter of whether to kneel, sit or stand, and that statement of restrictive freedom really bothered Evans — enough to take action for the cause against police brutality and against the President’s words of restrictive freedom.

That was last year, but recently when Trump decided to get back into the conversation of the national anthem and the NFL, Evans decided to fire back.

On Wednesday, as players reported for training camp, Evans was asked about that little back-and-forth he had with Trump and said this in response.

“Just a little friendly tweet,” Evans said.

Perhaps this is the last time we’ll see an incident with Evans and the President.

But perhaps it not, either.

Evans hasn’t seemed shy about addressing his concern with the President up to this point. That likely won’t change.
