Thanks to his 453-yard, five-touchdown performance against the New Orleans Saints on Sunday, Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarertback Ryan Fitzpatrick was named NFC Offensive Player of the Week by the NFL.
Fitzpatrick completed 21-of-28 of his passes (75 percent) for 417 passing yards (14.89 yards-per-attempt), with four touchdowns and no interceptions, which gave him a passer rating of 156.2. He also rushed for 36 yards on the ground and scored a rushing touchdown, as well.
Per Buccaneers.com, this is Fitzpatrick’s sixth career Offensive Player of the Week award. The others: St. Louis Rams (Week 12, 2005), the Houston Texans (Week 13, 2014) and the New York Jets (Weeks 14 & 16, 2015; Week 2, 2016).
