Latest Bucs Headlines

To start the game, the Bucs decided the didn’t want the Chicago Bears crowd getting into the game, so they elected to defer to the second half after winning to toss and got started on defense. That turned out to be a mistake — but it’s not like it would have mattered.

On their first drive, the Bears went 75 yards in six plays. Quarterback Mitchell Trubisky had two big plays on the drive, a 23-yard keeper off an RPO play, and a 38-yard touchdown toss to tight end Trey Burton. There was a combination of bad luck and bad communication among the Bucs defense, which was a trend that continued well beyond the 7-0 start for Chicago.

The Bucs didn’t do much on their first drive, as it went three plays for zero yards and punt. After giving it back to the Bears, Trubisky and company couldn’t get much going either, as they went backwards seven yards and ended up punting themselves. But, on the final trio of punts, the Bucs also couldn’t do anything beyond their first series and punted it right back.

After the second punt by the Buccaneers, the Bears offense got back to work. On a 7-play, 73-yard drive, Trubisky led the Bears offense down for another touchdown. Big play to Tarik Cohen, Taylor Gabriel and Allen Robinson made the drive possible, as they once again took advantage of the Buccaneers miscommunications.

Fantasytreasureweek4The Bucs final got into some sort of a rhythm on their next offensive series, as quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick hit wide receiver DeSean Jackson for a 48-yard play. But that only resulted in a field goal and the score became 14-3.

On the next Bears drive, things looked ever easier than before.Trubisky ran the offesne well and got into the end zone for a score of 21-3. Then a  37-yard pass to Burton and a 20-yard pass to Joshua Bellamy on the following drive capped off a quick 4-play, 75-yard drive that extended Chicago’s lead to 28-3. After a Buccaneers punt, the Bears once again went back to work and more passing and running from Trubisky got the Bear yet another touchdown in the first have to extend the lead to then 35-3.

After intercepting the Buccaneers on their next drive, the Bears controlled the clock, got into field goal range and made the score 38-3 at the half.

To open up the second half Jameis Winston came into the game at quarterback for the Buccaneers. He orchestrated a first down, but then pressure off the edge caused his arm to get hit during a throw and an interception was the result. Coming off the turnover, the Buccaneers defense kept their first half woes and allowed the Bears to score with ease again, making the score 45-3.

After a series of punts, one for each team, Winston drove the Buccaneers down the field on an 11-play, 79-yard drive that resulted in Tampa Bay’s first touchdown f the game, making the score 45-10.

Chicago slowed things down on their next drive, as the game was well in hand. They went 47 yards in 11 plays, but most importantly took over seven minutes off the game clock before kicking a field goal and extending their lead to 48-10.

After another possession and an interception by Winston, that’s how the score would end.
