Monken took the reigns as offensive coordinator for the Bucs this season and got them to third overall in total offense. The Bucs were first in the league in total passing yards with 5,125.
While he has yet to be a head coach in the NFL, Monken has head coaching experience at the college level. He was at Southern Miss from 2013-2015, where he coached now 49ers’ quarterback Nick Mullens.
He previously was the Jacksonville Jaguars’ wide receivers coach from 2007-2010, and held that same position with the Bucs in 2016 and 2017 before being moved up to the offensive coordinator.
Monken’s interview with the Bengals is the second request he has received, as he’s slated to interview with the New York Jets as well.
