It wasn’t just the warm weather, palm trees and a Top 10 offense that helped the Bucs lure former Cardinals head coach Bruce Arians out of retirement.

The Bucs got some help from another former Tampa Bay coach. No it wasn’t Greg, Schiano, Tony Dungy or Jon Gruden. In fact it wasn’t even a former football coach, but instead one who led his team to a World Series appearance.

Former Rays manager and current Cubs clubhouse leader Joe Maddon was a big part of the recruitment of Arians to the Bucs. Maddon called the Ronnie and TKras show on 95.3 WDAE on Wednesday and talked about his influence.
