Latest Bucs Headlines

One of the most popular players in recent Bucs’ history, has a new home.

Grizzled veteran Ryan Fitzpatrick signed a two-year deal with the Miami Dolphins to be their starting quarterback according to Adam Schefter.

Fitzpatrick joined the Buccaneers prior to the 2017 season and started three games that season in relief of an injured Jameis Winston. Fitzpatrick was 2-1 as a starter in 2017. Following the 2017 season the Buccaneers gave him a one-year deal to stay in Tampa Bay where he started the season subbing for a suspended Winston.

“FitzMagic” sprang early in Tampa Bay as he guided the Buccaneers to two straight wins, including a season opening victory on the road at New Orleans where he completed 21 of 28 passes for a career-high 417 yards and four touchdowns. The following week he led the Buccaneers to an upset of the defending Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles. Fitzpatrick won NFC Player-of-the-Week honors following those two victories.

in signing with the Dolphins Fitzpatrick has played for three of the four AFC East teams, the Jets, Bills and now Miami.

The excitement of Fitzpatrick’s success early with the Buccaneers spurred on a wave of QB love not seen in Tampa Bay in a long time, if ever. Fans wore beards to game had FitzMagic shirts made and even a Civil War inspired parody Twitter account sprang up that now has nearly 8,000 followers.

In NFL career, Fitzpatrick has now played for eight teams and has throw for 29,357 yards and 190 touchdown passes.
