The Bucs moved one step closer signing all of their picks from the 2019 draft as they came to a deal with safety Mike Edwards on Thursday.

Edwards was taken in the third around out of Kentucky in the 2019 draft, where he compiled 317 tackles, 10 interceptions, 23 passes defended and two defensive touchdowns during his time with the Wildcats.

Known as a physical and versatile player, Edwards has had a strong start early on during the Bucs’ offseason practices. With the injury to Justin Evans lingering, Edwards is expected to compete for the starting safety position, along with an important role as the nickel corner.

After the signing of Edwards, the only two Bucs’ draft picks that remain unsigned are fellow third round pick Jamel Dean, and first round pick Devin White.
