With training camp beginning on Friday, the Bucs will be missing a number of players when it starts.
The team announced on Monday that S Justin Evans, ILB Jack Cichy, OLB David Kenney, and WR Xavier Ubosi will be placed on the Physically Unable To Perform (PUP) list, while quarterback Nick Fitzgerald was placed on the Non-Football Injury (NFI) list.
Evans has been dealing with foot injuries as far back as last season when a toe injury cost him six games and landed him on season ending IR to finish season. He did not practice during OTAs or mini-camp, and was seen wearing a walking boot.
Cichy is another player that is recovering from an injury that happened last season. He tore the ACL in his left knee in week seven of 2018 after previously tearing his right ACL at Wisconsin in 2017.
The Athletic’s Greg Auman has also reported that Fitzgerald has a hamstring injury while Kenney and Ubosi are dealing with a foot and ankle issue, respectively. All three of these injuries are considered to be minor.
The Bucs’ rookies have already reported to training camp as the veterans get set to report on Thursday, followed by the first training camp under Bruce Arians taking place on Friday.
