With his best performance of the season to date, Bucs quarterback Jameis Winston has been nominated for the FedEx Air & Ground Players Of The Week. The weekly award is given to one player in the passing game and one for rushing.
His fellow nominees are Philip Rivers from the Chargers and Cleveland Browns’ quarterback Baker Mayfield. Rivers threw for 310-yards and two-touchdowns, and Mayfield went for 342 passing yards and one touchdown.
Winston had the highest numbers out of all three quarterbacks. He completed 28 of 41 passes on Sunday for 385-yards with four-touchdowns and one interception in the Bucs 55-40 upset win over the undefeated Los Angeles Rams. Winston’s passing yards, touchdowns, completions and completion percentage of 68.29 were all a season high.
