It’s been exciting times recently for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The team is currently 2-2 coming off a thrilling win on the road in Los Angeles, where the offense put on a show to the tune of 55 points (though the last touchdown was from the defense).
Speaking of defense, Bucs pass rusher Shaq Barrett just earned the NFL’s Defensive Player of the Month Award for his nine sacks in four weeks — which is tied for the most in NFL history through the first four games.
Though there is hardly anything to complain about from the Bucs defensive front so far this season, there hasn’t been much sack production outside of Barrett. But the cavalry could be on the way, as TMZ is reporting that the Bucs sack leader last year, defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul, is targeting Week 8 for his return.

TMZ is reporting that they spoke to Pierre-Paul’s agent, Doug Hendrickson, and he said that Pierre-Paul would be ready to play Week 7, but that is Tampa’s Bye Week. That tells us they’re eyeing a Week 8 return when the Bucs play at Tennessee.
Pierre-Paul suffered his neck injury in a car accident this summer, which has kept him sidelined through all of training camp, the preseason and so far to this point in the regular season.
