WR Chris Godwin
Many of the receptions that Godwin made in this game were crucial for the Bucs on Sunday. Godwin’s first catch was a touchdown that gave the Bucs a 7-3 lead. His second was an important third down reception that was just past the marker and extended the drive. Godwin then made a huge reception on fourth down that helped move the ball down to the goal line, which led to the Bucs cutting their deficit to 24-17 at the time.

Godwin also added a touchdown reception late in the fourth quarter to round out the scoring for Tampa Bay.

The team’s leading receiver finished the game with seven catches for 125 yards and two touchdowns.

CB Sean Murphy-Bunting
The rookie cornerback recorded his first interception in his NFL career during the first quarter for the Bucs only turnover of the game. Murphy-Bunting ripped the ball away after Alvin Kamara bobbled the pass from Teddy Bridgewater. It was a huge play at the time, as the Bucs had just recovered a fumble on a punt just two plays before, but the referees ruled that there was no conclusive recovery on the play.

With the Bucs down after the no-call, Murphy-Bunting’s interception changed the momentum for the team and provided them with good field position that they capitalized on. Murphy-Bunting also made a very nice open field tackle on a screen play with more playing time than usual after Carlton Davis was ejected.

This should only help the rookies’ confidence, and Murphy-Bunting ended up with five tackles and one interception.

RB Ronald Jones
There’s just something about Jones this season where he provides a spark every time he’s in the game. It’s like you now come to expect something big to happen when Jones touches the ball. Jones got his first carry of the game in the second quarter and instantly popped a 14-yard gain and a first down.

Jones also had a pivotal screen pass for 11 yards that helped move the chains, as he was instrumental on the Bucs’ drive that led to a field goal and tied the game up at the time. He was also involved in the Bucs’ scoring drives in the second half as well. Jones has made a serious case to become the Bucs starting running back by season’s end. Jones finished with nine carries for 35 yards, and two receptions for 21 yards on the day.
