For the second time this season, the NFL has announced that a Tampa Bay Buccaneers player has been named the NFC Offensive Player of the Week. This time it’s wide receiver Chris Godwin for caught seven passes for a career-high 184 yards and two touchdowns, including a career-long 71-yarder in a 35-22 win at Atlanta on Sunday.

This is the second time Godwin has won the award (Week 17, 2017) and the second time this season an offensive player in Tampa Bay has had the honor as quarterback Jameis Winston won it after his Week 4 performance at Los Angeles. Bucs outside linebacker Shaquil Barrett also earned NFC Defensive Player of the Week honors in Week 2.

Godwin currently leads the league with nine receiving touchdowns this year, while ranking second in the NFL with 1,071 receiving yards. He’s tied for fourth in the league with 70 catches.

Godwin also reached the 1,000-yard mark for the first time in his career on Sunday, and he and Mike Evans became just the second Buccaneers duo to surpass the 1,000-yard mark in the same year (Mike Evans and Vincent Jackson, 2014). In addition, Evans and Godwin became the first pair of teammates in NFL history to each record three games of 150-plus receiving yards in the same season.

Godwin’s three games with 150-plus receiving yards are tied for the most in the league, and he also is tied for second in the NFL with five 100-yard receiving days this year. His three games with multiple TD receptions also lead the league, while Godwin is tied for second with 52 receptions for first downs, and ranks third among all wide receivers with 414 yards after the catch.
