The Bucs announced on Friday that they have signed tight end Tanner Hudson to a one-year deal. Hudson was set to become an exclusive rights free agent next week on March 18th.

A product out of South Arkansas University, Hudson signed with the Bucs as an undrafted free agent in 2018 and played on the practice squad. Hudson then had an impressive preseason in 2019 where he built a good chemistry with quarterback Ryan Griffin and became the Bucs leading receiver for the entire preseason.

This gave Hudson the opportunity to appear in nine games for the Bucs last season, where he had two receptions for 26 yards. Hudson will be in competition for the third tight end position this year along with Jordan Leggett, Codey McElroy, and potentially Antony Auclair if he is signed as a restricted free agent. O.J. Howard and Cam Brate will have the first two spots on the depth chart.
