Latest Bucs Headlines

After the big news on Friday that they have officially signed Tom Brady, the Bucs have started working on protecting their famous quarterback by reaching an agreement with offensive lineman Joe Haeg, per Adam Schefter.

And according to Ian Rapoport, it’s a one-year deal worth $2.3 million.

The Bucs have had a trend of adding small school offensive lineman to their roster over the past couple of years, and that continues with Haeg, who played his college ball at North Dakota State.

Haeg is a four-year veteran who was a starter for the Indianapolis Colts in his first two years in the NFL and then moved to a backup role. Haeg is a versatile linemen that can play both offensive tackle and offensive guard.

This provides good depth for the Bucs on the offensive line as Haeg can compete in training camp for the starting right tackle position. The Bucs will still be looking for an offensive tackle in the draft, but the addition of Haeg will push whoever his competition is, and in the event that someone on the line gets injured, he is a solid backup to put in place.
