UPDATED September 7 at 9:00 a.m.
The Buccaneers met the 4:00 p.m. Saturday deadline and got their roster down to 53 players. In doing so the team had to make some tough decisions of who to keep and who to let go. The COVID-19 pandemic situation has changed much of the normalcy in the NFL this year, including expanded practice squads that include now 15 players.
The Buccaneers originally signed RB Raymond Calais, the team’s seventh-round pick, to the practice squad, but the Los Angeles Rams signed Calais to the team’s 53-man roster to serve as the Rams’ kick returner. Tampa Bay originally signed quarterback Reid Sinnett, an undrafted free agent signing in April, to the practice squad, but released him to make room for new kicker Greg Joseph.
Tampa Bay’s practice squad currently stands at 15 players with room for one more.
