After his best performance of the season in the Bucs’ 38-31 victory over the Los Angeles Chargers, quarterback Tom Brady has been announced as a nominee for FedEx Air Player Of The Week.
The NFL nominates three players each for the FedEx Air And Ground Players Of The Week, for those who had top performances for passing and rushing.
Brady completed 30 of 46 passes in the game while throwing for 369 yards and five touchdowns. The completions, yards and touchdowns were all personal bests for him on the year and each of his five scores went to a different receiver.
The Bucs’ victory also signaled a milestone for Brady, who won his 222nd career game. He surpassed his former teammate Adam Vinatieri for the most regular season wins of all time.
Alongside Brady as nominees for Air Player Of The Week are Russell Wilson of the Seattle Seahawks and Dallas Cowboys’ quarterback Dak Prescott.
The running back nominees for Ground Player Of The Week include the Vikings’ Dalvin Cook, Bengals running back Joe Mixon, and Melvin Gordon of the Broncos.
