Halloween has come and gone but the Bucs gave fans a scare of their own on Monday night, trailing the Giants into the fourth quarter before re-taking the lead and narrowly escaping with a  29-17 prime time win.

After taking a 3-0 lead on their first drive of the game, Ronald Jones II would allow the Giants to take over at the Tampa Bay 12-yard line on their next offensive drive after fumbling on a second down reception. The Giants would score on a touchdown reception to Dion Lewis, giving them a 7-3 lead, and add on to their lead with 1:50 remaining in the first half as a 10-play, 77-yard drive from New York culminated in a 2-yard touchdown run from Wayne Gallman. Brady would lead Tampa Bay down the field before halftime but the Bucs would settle for a field goal and head into the locker room trailing 14-6. The Giants were unable hold on for a win though, scoring 8 points in the last two quarters while Tampa Bay capitalized on two interceptions from Jones to build a 25-17 lead with less than four minutes remaining. Jones would lead the Giants into the Bucs’ red zone, converting on two separate fourth downs before finding Golden Tate in the end zone for a 19-yard touchdown that brought New York within just two. On the Giants’ two-point conversion attempt the hero would be rookie Antoine Winfield Jr., breaking up Jones’ final pass attempt to seal the lead for Tampa Bay.

The Bucs’ win moves Tampa Bay back into first place in the NFC South at 6-2 as they prepare for a massive Sunday Night Football match-up against the Saints in Week 9. New Orleans holds the tiebreaker over Tampa Bay as they enter their second and final regular season meeting next week.
