There has been a lot of speculation on whether Bruce Arians, 68, will return as the Bucs head coach next season, especially if the team wins the Super Bowl in 11 days. But Arians put those thoughts to bed in an interview with 95.3 WDAE, telling the local radio station he’ll be back for 2021 in pursuit of another world championship.

“Hell no,” Arians said when asked if he would consider retirement after the Super Bowl. “I’m going for two. There’s no doubt. If the Glazers have me back, I’ll be back.”

In 2019 Arians came out of a one-year retirement to coach the Bucs and partner with GM Jason Licht to build a Super Bowl-caliber team, setting franchise records for points scored each of the past two seasons. The Bucs improved from 5-11 to 7-9 in Arians’ first season, then had an offseason for the ages with the signing of Tom Brady, trade for Rob Gronkowski and the drafting of Tristan Wirfs and Antoine Winfield Jr. in the first two rounds of the 2020 NFL Draft. That resulted in an 11-5 season and a 3-0 run on the road in the playoffs, culminating in a Super Bowl matchup with the defending champion Kansas City Chiefs on February 7.

Brady, Gronkowski and Arians have now confirmed that they plan to be back for the 2021 season for at least one more run at another world championship, so win or lose, Bucs fans can take plenty of solace in that.
