The NFL has announced that Bucs safety Antoine Winfield Jr. will be fined $7,815 after giving Chiefs WR Tyreek Hill the “peace” sign in the fourth quarter of Tampa Bay’s 31-9 rout of Kansas City in the greatest singular act in Super Bowl history.

Winfield had not been penalized all season, but chose the perfect moment to suffer his first flag of the season. After breaking up a fourth down desperation heave for Hill near the end of the fourth quarter, Winfield crouched down as the wide receiver picked himself up off the grass, flashing the peace sign in his face while grinning ear-to-ear. The move mimicked Hill’s signature deuces sign that he utilized against the Bucs back in Week 12.

After the game, Winfield had this to say.
“The taunting, it was just something I had to do,” Winfield said. “When we played them earlier [this
season], Hill went off on us. He backflipped in front of my face and gave me the peace sign so it
was only right that I gave the peace sign back to him at this moment. It felt amazing to be able
to do that.”
