Bucs head coach Bruce Arians has been a strong and outspoken advocate for his players and staff getting the COVID-19 vaccinated to, in his words, get back to normal.

Now the Bucs are trying to get more area residents to get the vaccine and are offering an incentive – get vaccinated, and get a photo with the Lombardi Trophy.

Hillsborough County is holding a vaccination clinic at Mt. Olive AME Church on Wednesday for those ages 12 and up and in doing so they will receive an opportunity to have a photo with the trophy.

The event is being held at 1902 W. La Salle St. from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Parents or guardians of those under the age of 18 must be present to approve the vaccinations. The event is offering the Pfizer vaccine that requires a second dose in three to four weeks.

The vaccines are free of charge.

The U.S.has seen the numbers of cases of COVID-19 drop significantly in 2021 especially compared to this time last year where the pandemic had much of the country shut down and changed the professionals sports landscape dramatically. With the cases dropping, the Buccaneers have announced a plan to be at full capacity at Raymond James Stadium for all Bucs games in 2021. The team will also host fans at 16 of their training camp practices this season. Last year there were no open camp practices and the NFL and the NFLPA agreed to not play any preseason games.

Back in May Arians spoke about the feeling of being back in the building this season compared to last.

“There’s a different feeling in the whole building,” Arians said following an OTA workout. “Everybody came to work and was like, ‘Wow.’ There is a different vibe in the building. It does feel great. It feels fantastic.”
