Back in March, Pewter Report broke the news that Bucs receiver Jaydon Mickens was arrested in Los Angeles, California when police officers pulled him over and found an illegally concealed and loaded firearm in his vehicle. Now TMZ Sports is reporting that prosecutors have levied 2 misdemeanors against the veteran wide receiver. If convicted, the two gun charges each carry a maximum of one year in jail.
After the arrest in March the Bucs made the following statement.“We are aware of the issue regarding Jaydon that occurred in Los Angeles last week. He reached out to let us know about the situation soon after it happened and we have been in contact with the league office to ensure they were aware. We will continue to monitor the situation, but will have no further comment at this time.”
Mickens remains on the Bucs roster after signing a two-year deal in 2020. He is currently in competition with rookie Jaelon Darden for kick return duties. The primary returner last season, Mickens averaged nearly 25 yards per return. He also caught seven passes on ten targets for 58 yards.
