The Bucs announced early on Monday morning that they have removed rookie cornerback Chris Wilcox from the active/PUP list. Tampa Bay selected Wilcox out of BYU in the seventh round of the 2021 NFL Draft.

We last saw Wilcox practice with the team during OTAs and rookie mini-camp. He was placed on the physically unable to preform list along with receiver Jonathan Franklin on July 22, due to a hamstring injury.

Wilcox will join in the mix of corners that are in competition for one of the last spots at the position. This includes players such as Antonio Hamilton, Cameron Kinley and Nate Brooks amongst others. After missing a week of training camp, Wilcox has some ground to gain with his teammates if he wants to make the roster.

It is not known yet how much Wilcox will participate when he returns to practice. The Bucs have eased in other players when coming back from injury as Antonio Brown and O.J. Howard were first limited to just individual drills before upgrading to practicing with the whole team.
