Bucs starting left tackle Donovan Smith has missed the last two training camp practices on Friday and Saturday. With many veteran players getting days off, it didn’t come as much of a surprise.
But after practice on Saturday, we learned from Bruce Arians that Smith has been out due to personal reasons, and not just for a maintenance day.

“Donovan Smith has personal reasons,” Arians said. “He’s gone, yesterday and today.”
In replacement of Smith, backup tackle Josh Wells has gotten the reps at left tackle with first team on the offensive line. He has done a good job in two days working with the starters.
The Bucs have an off day on Sunday before resuming practice again on Monday. It’s unclear at the moment if Smith will be available to practice by then. PewterReport.com will continue to monitor the situation.
