There was a bit of a surprise looking at the Bucs’ injury report in the middle week as outside linebacker Jason Pierre-Paul did not practice on Thursday due to a hand injury. Friday’s practice is normally a walk through for the Bucs, but he was not present there as well.

It appears that there is no cause for concern, though, as head coach Bruce Arians confirmed after practice that Pierre-Paul will be good to go when the Bucs host the Falcons on Sunday.

“He’s fine,” Arians said. “He had a veteran’s day off today with three or four other guys.”

Pierre-Paul came into this season as healthy as he’s been following offseason knee surgery for an injury that he dealt with all year long during the Bucs’ Super Bowl run. Pierre-Paul is as determined and tough as they come in this league. He’s recovered and played through injuries such as losing a finger in a fireworks incident and working his way back from a fractured vertebrae.

In the season opener, Pierre-Paul recorded six tackles in the Bucs’ win. Overall, the defense recorded one sack in the game and will look to get multiple on Sunday playing against a less mobile quarterback.
