The Bucs have announced they have signed defensive lineman Willington Previlon to the practice squad. The Athletic’s Greg Auman was the first to report the move.

Previlon will take the open spot on the practice squad created by the promotion of cornerback Pierre Desir. The corner was elevated to the active roster prior to Sunday’s game against the Patriots. To make room for Desir, the Bucs released sixth round defensive lineman Khalil Davis. The second-year player was subsequently claimed on waivers by the Indianapolis Colts.
Thin on the defensive line, Previlon provides reinforcement. His addition gives the Bucs three defensive linemen on the practice squad, joining Kobe Smith and Benning Potoa’e. The team currently has six defensive linemen on the main roster.
“Previlon (6-5, 285) entered the league as a college free agent with the Green Bay Packers in 2020 and remained with Green Bay’s practice squad throughout the 2020 season before sticking with the Packers through the 2021 preseason. He spent five seasons at Rutgers (2015-19), recording 71 tackles (11.5 for loss), 4.0 sacks and three passes defensed, earning All-Big Ten Honorable Mention honors during his final season in 2019. The Orange, New Jersey, native will wear No. 94 for Tampa Bay.”*
