The Bucs have been hit harder than any other team in the league at cornerback. As such they have added another body to their corner room. The latest edition, is cornerback Blidi Wreh-Wilson to the practice squad.
We've activated G John Molcholn from injured reserve. We've also released WR Jaydon Mickens from the active roster & OLB Elijah Ponder from the practice squad.

An eight year veteran, Wreh-Wilson played for the Atlanta Falcons over the past five seasons. He’s played in 75 career games with 17 starts. Last season with the Falcons he had just nine total tackles, but intercepted three passes and deflected four others. In 245 snaps in 2020, Wreh-Wilson finished with a 63.2 coverage grade per Pro Football Focus. The season prior his snaps and coverage grade were a bit higher, ending the 2019 season with a 64 coverage grade on 336 snaps.
Another area where Wreh-Wilson could help is on special teams. He has been a 4-phase special teams guy throughout his career. That being said, he has not seen a snap on punt coverage unit in three years. Wreh-Wilson was most recently with the Las Vegas Raiders throughout training camp.
To make room for Wreh-Wilson the Bucs released outside linebacker Elijah Ponder from the practice squad. Ponder spent was resigned to the team in September after spending time with the Green Bay Packers. The 23-year old made the switch from defensive tackle to outside linebacker during training camp, and showed promise. Ponder is ultra-physical with good pop in his hands and better dip around the edge than expected
