After days of vast speculation and reports, Bucs quarterback Tom Brady has officially retired.
The greatest quarterback of all time finishes his career with a myriad of NFL records, such as most career passing touchdowns and passing yards, along with seven Super Bowl championships. That includes a title with the Bucs in his first year with the team, as Tampa Bay won Super Bowl LV.
Brady went to his Instagram and Twitter accounts to make the announcement where he thanked teammates, coaches and fellow competitors. Naturally, many of his Bucs teammates gave their own reactions to his retirement, sending him congratulatory messages of well wishes and praise. These players included Shaq Barrett, Chris Godwin, Jaleon Darden, Blaine Gabbert and Lavonte David among others.
Since the news was originally reported over the weekend, the outpouring of thank you’s had began on Saturday with Donovan Smith and Tyler Johnson.
Congratulations on a great career @TomBrady ! Enjoy retirement goat

Probably the most comical tribute out of them all came from wide receiver Cyril Grayson Jr, who made a call back to Brady’s infamous avocado tequila moment at the Super Bowl parade.
I jumped the gun last tweet. And maybe I had some avocado tequila during Gasparilla lol cause I read the typos next day…

And a popular comment came from Bucs cornerback Carlton Davis III, who got straight to the point with a ton of goat emojis.
It wasn’t only his teammates that reached out to Brady. There were many famous celebrities and athletes that congratulated him on his decision, such as Shaquille O’Neal, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, J.J. Watt and Michael Phelps.
The Bucs posted a video as well thanking Brady for his time in Tampa Bay.
Forever a part of Buccaneers history.
Thank you for everything, @TomBrady. 🙏 pic.twitter.com/XkMON0SY8j
