Since Tom Brady announced his return from retirement, speculation has run rampant about the Bucs roster. Which free agents will be back? Who will depart? Will the Bucs offense be what it was last season? And, most notably, will Brady’s favorite target, Rob Gronkowski, stave off retirement for another year?

In a video shared to Twitter earlier today, free agent Gronkowski talks to other patrons at a Tampa barber shop. In the video, Gronkowski is asked if he will be returning to Tampa Bay for the 2022 season.

“There’s a very good chance,” Gronkowski is heard saying, followed by, “I’ll let him have a little scare.” It sounds like Gronkowski is jokingly referencing Tom Brady. The future Hall of Famer finishes by saying, “A couple of months without me, you know. And he just did it to me for a couple of months.” Then Gronk exits the shop. The video was shared to Twitter by WDAE’s Zac Blobner.

Gronkowski, 32, is coming off of a 55-catch, 802-yard season with six touchdowns over 12 games. There was some speculation that he would retire after Brady decided to hang it up. But with Brady back in the fold, it seems even Gronk himself is letting on that he is likely to return to the Bucs.

Free-agency began in earnest earlier today at 4pm EST.
