According to NFL Insider Jordan Schultz, the Bucs are hosting yet another running back on a Top 30 visit. On Wednesday, Alabama running back Brian Robinson visited Tampa Bay’s facility to meet with the team. Currently, Robinson is projected to be drafted sometime in Rounds 4-7.

After four years as a backup, Robinson finally got his chance as the lead back in 2021. He responded with 1,343 yards and 14 touchdowns an All-SEC first teamer. Perhaps most impressively, Robinson added 35 catches for 296 yards and two more scores through the air. At nearly 6-2, 225 pounds, the fifth-year senior is clearly the Bucs’ physical prototype at running back. Robinson has workhorse back experience, but limited athleticism, which could shelter his role in the NFL.

As for the Bucs, their running back homework knows no bounds. After interviewing more than 10 running backs at the NFL Scouting Combine, the Bucs have now hosted eight on visits this offseason. Isaiah Spiller, Rachaad White, James Cook, Hassan Haskins and Robinson have met with the team on Top 30 visits. And Dameon Pierce, Malik Davis and Jerome Ford came on local visits.

Tampa Bay’s running back room is already near full capacity, with Leonard Fournette, Giovani Bernard and Ke’Shawn Vaughn under contract. Kenjon Barner is also on the team, but isn’t a lock for the final roster. The Bucs seem likely to add a running back in the draft. The question will be how that player finds a path to playing time in 2022.
