With the 2023 NFL Draft in the rearview mirror and offseason workouts – including rookie mini camp – coming up in the next few weeks, the Bucs have updated their roster with jersey numbers for the new season. The updates include mostly new additions, although there were some changes finalized for current players who wanted to switch numbers as well.
The biggest changes obviously came with players who have already put on the Bucs’ red, white and pewter. Outside linebacker Shaquil Barrett, who wore No. 58 from 2019-2022, is making the switch to No. 7.
Other changes include wide receiver Russell Gage going from No. 17 to No. 3, and running back Rachaad White switching from No. 29 to No. 1 (as he told Pewter Report earlier this offseason).

The Bucs’ free agent class officially has their numbers locked in, too. Quarterback Baker Mayfield will wear the No. 6 that he wore at Oklahoma and during his time with the Browns and Panthers. He wore No. 17 during his stint with the Rams last year, but will go back to the number he donned when he won a Heisman Trophy with the Sooners and later in a playoff game in Cleveland.
Running back Chase Edmonds will wear No. 22, offensive lineman Matt Feiler has No. 71 and defensive tackle Greg Gaines will be No. 96. Meanwhile, new kicker Chase McLaughlin will wear No. 4 and safety Ryan Neal chose No. 23.
Despite Tom Brady’s retirement, wide receiver Chris Godwin will stick with No. 14 rather than going back to the No. 12 jersey he wore from 2017-2019.
Jersey Numbers For Bucs’ Rookies Are Unconfirmed, But Appear Legit
The Bucs’ rookie class — along with rookie camp invites — will report to the AdventHealth Training Center next weekend. The team’s roster hasn’t been updated with the jersey numbers for the draftees, possibly because they have yet to sign their contracts.
Nonetheless, NFL Jersey Numbers (@nfl_jersey_num) on Twitter has been posting the numbers for rookies all across the league. That includes Tampa Bay’s class. And while there hasn’t been confirmation from the team, fifth-round pick SirVocea Dennis reposted his number on his Instagram story, seemingly confirming that he will wear No. 8.

First-round defensive tackle Calijah Kancey wore No. 8 at Pitt, but as an interior defensive lineman, he can’t wear a single-digit number in the NFL. He previously said during his introductory press conference that the number he wears doesn’t matter to him. According to NFL Jersey Numbers, Kancey will wear No. 94.
Second-round guard Cody Mauch will wear No. 69, with fifth-round tight end Payne Durham following in the footsteps of former Bucs tight end Rob Gronkowski and wearing No. 87. That’s also the number he wore at Purdue, and now he’ll look to do the number proud in the NFL.
As for the sixth-rounders, defensive back Josh Hayes will wear No. 32, wide receiver Trey Palmer got the No. 10 and outside linebacker Jose Ramirez will don the No. 33 jersey.
Third-round outside linebacker YaYa Diaby has yet to have his jersey number reported on, but we’ll get an idea of what he’s going to wear (along with confirmation on the rest of the rookies) next weekend at the rookie mini-camp.
