Prior to the kickoff of the Bucs vs. Falcons game on Thursday Night Football in Atlanta on Amazon Prime, Tampa Bay quarterback Baker Mayfield went undercover as a red-and-pewter-clad fan for a new Amazon series called Eli Manning Presents “The Undercovers.” The 30-minute video features Manning introducing Mayfield as the first participant in the series.

Along with the help of makeup artists, Mayfield gets a disguise to blend in with Bucs fans as they go on a tour of One Buccaneer Place at the AdventHealth Training Center.

As Mayfield dons his makeup and costume, he tests out his new look on some Bucs staffers, and even right tackle Luke Goedeke and left tackle Tristan Wirfs, who were in the weight room. Wirfs knew right away it was Mayfield, but Goedeke admitted it took him a few moments to realize it was actually him.

Baker Mayfield Becomes “Gus Swayze”

Bucs QB Baker Mayfield as Gus Swayze – Amazon Prime

Watch as Baker Mayfield transforms into “Gus Swayze” the has-been/would-have-been quarterback superstar – if only he hadn’t blown out his knee back in the day, of course. Donning a long hair wig, an old school Bucs pullover from yesteryear, cargo pants and “sport” Crocs, Mayfield – in character as Swayze – fits seamlessly into the crowd of Tampa Bay super fans on the tour.

Mayfield gets to watch and listen as the fans on the tour talk about him and his Bucs teammates before finally revealing himself after he shows off his cannon arm in a longest throw contest in the team’s indoor practice facility at the end of the show. Tampa Bay’s veteran starter even fools three rookies in attendance – center Graham Barton, tight end Devin Culp and wide receiver Jalen McMillan, who notices that Swayze throws with some unreal velocity.

The episode debuted on Thursday on Amazon Prime. You can watch the entire episode of “The Undercovers” with Baker Mayfield going undercover as Gus Swayze by clicking on the video below on the Amazon Prime Sports page on YouTube.
