Entering his third season with the Bucs, quarterback Baker Mayfield has firmly set down roots with the organization and the city of Tampa Bay. Mayfield will aim to live up to the buzz generated about the team as they gear up for their 50th season and another playoff run in 2025.

Before he completely enters “football mode” though, Baker and his wife Emily Mayfield will be hosting their third annual “Be the Ball” event on Sunday, August 24th at TopGolf in Tampa Bay.

Baker, Emily Mayfield’s “Be The Ball” Event Has Significant Impact On Tampa Bay Community

In a statement released by the Baker and Emily Mayfield Foundation, they announced that the 2025 “Be the Ball” event will benefit a youth-serving organization in the community. Last year, they raised over $220,000 to benefit the Early Learning Coalition of Hillsborough County.

When asked about the impact they hope to bring with the platforms they have, each spoke about the chance to give back and level the playing field for those who do not have the resources.

“The theme is to level the playing field,” Emily Mayfield opened by saying at last year’s event. “Baker and I both had amazing childhoods and always had everything at our fingertips that we could possibly need, but that’s not the case for everyone.”

Baker Mayfield added that “The motto of the foundation – Be strong, Be resilient, Be successful, Be more – all those things trying tie in the motto as well to level the playing field so that those kids have the same opportunities that we did when we were growing up. Just trying to provide any way that we can, because kids have so much potential. When you don’t allow them to tap into that potential, it’s not fair.”

Who they will be hosting the event on behalf of this year will soon be announced.

Details On The 2025 “Be The Ball” Event

As mentioned above, the 2025 “Be the Ball” event will be held at the TopGolf in Tampa Bay, where it was also held last year. It will take place on Sunday, August 24th, from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m.

The ticketed event is open to everyone, including Bucs fans, University of Oklahoma alums, and those looking to give back to the community to play in the Topgolf tournament and help support the Tampa Bay area. Following an afternoon at the Topgolf range, players can enjoy hosted cocktails and dinner with Baker & Emily Mayfield and other Tampa Bay Buccaneers on the rooftop deck.

Hitting bay packages and individual tickets will be available to purchase on Monday, June 30 on https://bemayfield.org/betheball.

“We’re so excited to unite with our community and continue to make an impact in Tampa,” Baker Mayfield said in the Baker and Emily Mayfield Foundation’s announcement. “Emily and I want to help further improve our community, especially among the youth. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Tampa Bay community for its outstanding support and generosity in helping advance our mission to empower the next generation.”

“These past two years of Be the Ball have been amazing, and we look forward to continuing to grow the event this year,” Emily Mayfield added. “Being on the ground and using our platform to have an impact on our community has been incredibly rewarding. That being said, continued support is needed to make a difference in our community’s challenges. We know this year’s event will be the most impactful yet, and we look forward to seeing everyone on August 24.”
