And the hits keep on coming for the Bucs and the team’s injury report.

On Saturday morning, the Tampa Bay media relations department notified Pewter Report and other media outlets that the team is putting kicker Chase McLaughlin on the injury report due to an illness. He is traveling with the team to Seattle, though.

McLaughlin does not have an injury designation, such as questionable or out. So there is a chance he could play on Sunday and that the Bucs are just doing their due diligence and declaring his status change for Sunday’s game at Seattle against the 3-1 Seahawks.

McLaughlin made history last Sunday, connecting on a 65-yard field goal, which set a new franchise record and was the longest field goal outdoors in NFL history. McLaughlin was 3-of-3 in Week 4 versus the Eagles, including a 58-yarder.

The Bucs do not have a kicker on the practice squad. Tampa Bay would likely have to sign one on Saturday if McLaughlin were not expected to play unless the team feels confident that Riley Dixon could handle kickoffs, extra points and field goals.
