The Bucs made an adjustment to their practice squad signing running back Michael Wiley to the group while releasing tight end Caden Prieskorn in a subsequent move.

Wiley signed with the Washington Commanders as undrafted free agent during the 2024 season and was on their practice squad for the whole year. He then signed with the Kansas City Chiefs for the 2025 season and was let go during roster cuts at the end of training camp.

More injuries have popped up as of late for the Bucs. Starting running back Bucky Irving has missed two games in a row with a shoulder and an ankle injury and Todd Bowles said he’s not in play for their next game on Monday night. Rookie running back Josh Williams played in the first game of his career in Week 5 but the got a concussion last Thursday that kept him out for Week 6.

Because of those two injuries the Bucs had signed Owen Wright to the practice squad and then activated him for the game to backup behind Rachaad White and Sean Tucker. We’ll see what the status is for Williams in Week 7, but it’s likely that Wright could get called up again given the usage of White and Tucker in the offense and Tucker on special teams.

The further addition of Wiley gives Tampa Bay more depth at the position as they wait for Irving and Williams to return and in case something were to happen to White, Tucker or Wright in the coming games.
