The Bucs announced a few roster moves Saturday afternoon, less than 24 hours before kickoff of their Week 10 game against the Patriots at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa.

The most significant of those moves is one Baker Mayfield and the offense were hoping for coming out of the bye week, and that was the activation of right tackle Luke Goedeke from injured reserve.

Goedeke returned to practice this week, starting a 21-day window in which he had to be activated. It’s certainly great news for the Bucs offensive line that he was activated after just one week of practice, as it has him in line to return to the field on Sunday against the Patriots.

Assuming everything goes well pregame, the veteran right tackle will suit up for the first time since Week 2, when he reaggravated a foot injury against the Texans and ultimately landed on injured reserve.

Fellow veteran Charlie Heck has started at right tackle in Goedeke’s absence, and while he has done his best to hold it down, it’s no secret that there’s been a massive dropoff in play. As Pewter Report alum Jon Ledyard pointed out this week, Heck leads all offensive linemen in pressures allowed in 2025 despite ranking 93rd in pass block snaps.

So, there’s no doubt that Goedeke’s impending return will be a big deal for the Bucs offense, both in terms of protecting the quarterback and opening up running lanes to help revive the league’s 24th-ranked rushing attack.

When big No  67 — who signed a big-money contract extension in September — returns to the field, the Bucs will at least have 4/5 of their starting offensive line together for the first time all season. That’s the best it’ll get for that unit this season, unfortunately, given right guard Cody Mauch’s season-ending injury.

To make room for Goedeke on the 53-man roster, Tampa Bay waived safety Sebastian Castro.

Bucs Also Elevate Two From Practice Squad For Week 10

In addition to activating Luke Goedeke from injured reserve and waiving Sebastian Castro, Tampa Bay also announced that it is elevating inside linebacker Nick Jackson and outside linebacker Mo Kamara from the practice squad for Sunday’s game.

Kamara, an in-season pickup from the Dolphins, is being elevated for the second straight game. He made his Bucs debut on special teams and as a reserve pass rusher in the team’s Week 8 win over the Saints. Given Haason Reddick is still out this week, expect Week 8 NFC Defensive Player of the Week Anthony Nelson to start in his place as Kamara slides in as a special teams contributor and reserve on defense.

With this being Kamara’s second elevation, he has one remaining before he would have to be signed to the active roster.

For Jackson, this is his first elevation from the practice squad this season. The rookie out of Iowa starred in the preseason, leading the team in tackles while racking up two sacks and coming up with an impressive one-handed interception on a tipped pass by fellow undrafted rookie John Bullock.

Jackson’s elevation for Sunday’s game likely comes as a result of Markees Watts’ injury. That means he’s likely to set to make his NFL debut in a special teams role in Watts’ place.

Sunday’s game between the Bucs and Patriots at Raymond James Stadium kicks off at 1:00 p.m. and will be televised by CBS.
