The Bucs need pass rush help — but is Bradley Chubb the right move?
In this latest Pewter Report Podcast episode, we break down whether Tampa Bay should pursue Bradley Chubb and weigh the real pros and cons of making a move for the veteran edge rusher. Chubb missed all of the 2024 seasons with a torn ACL, but had a nice bounce back season in 2025 recording 8.5 sacks. Can he maintain this pace?
Ideally, the Bucs would like Chubb for one season in 2026 and not commit to him long term. He’ll be 30 when the season starts and is past his prime. Chubb on the other hand would likely be seeking a multi-year deal considering its his last time to cash in after he proved he can still produce at a high level.

These are options that Tampa Bay will have to consider.
Is this the kind of aggressive addition that could elevate Todd Bowles’ defense? Or would the cost — financially and in assets — outweigh the potential impact?
🔥 In this clip we cover:
How Chubb would fit in the Bucs’ defensive scheme
His injury history and durability concerns
Cap implications and what Tampa Bay would have to give up
Whether he’s still a true difference-maker off the edge
Better (or cheaper?) alternatives the Bucs could consider
The Bucs’ pass rush has been inconsistent, and adding a proven edge presence could change the math defensively. But every move has consequences — especially when you’re balancing cap space and long-term roster building.
