After a less-than-spectacular Week 1 game, the Bucs are preparing for their home opener against the Cleveland Browns. With strong new additions like former Ram, defensive end Jared Verse, and rookie wide receivers KC Concepcion and Denzel Boston, the Browns prove to bring a welcome challenge for Tampa Bay.
During their Week 1 matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals, the Bucs did sustain an injury in-game. Sophomore cornerback Jacob Parrish sustained a back injury during the second quarter, and was ultimately ruled out for the second half of the game.

Parrish was limited in his participation at practice on Wednesday, but having some sort of participation is better than none at all. Standing out as a versatile and agile player on last year’s defense, Parrish is a key piece for this Buccaneers team.
Adding to the injuries on defense, safety Miles Killebrew is currently under concussion protocol. With the Bucs’ depth at safety being razor thin, Tampa Bay cannot afford any other injuries to the room, especially with Killebrew’s prowess on special teams.
In better news, wide receiver Jalen McMillan and running back Sean Tucker were practicing today with no limitations. Both athletes missed Week 1, but practicing in full early in the week is a pleasant sign that the pair may be returning to the Bucs offense this Sunday.

There are only a handful of days to go until the Bucs home opener and time will tell whether or not Parrish and Killebrew will play. With the Browns integrating new offensive weapons, it is in Tampa Bay’s best interest to go into the game with a healthy defense if they want a shot at getting back to the win column.
