Now that the Pro Day schedule is coming to a close and we get closer and closer to draft weekend, expect to see teams really ramp up their 30 official pre-draft visits for 2017 NFL Draft prospects in the coming weeks.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have already hosted Alabama TE O.J. Howard, Miami TE David Njoku, USC CB Adoree’ Jackson along with a few others, and according to a report from NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, we can add Ohio State’s Curtis Samuel to that list as well.
#OSU S Malik Hooker, a top draft prospects, is visiting #Bears today, source said. Teammate WR Curtis Samuel was at the #Bucs, now #Vikings

This wasn’t the first time Samuel and the Buccaneers had met face-to-face as the two parties had a formal interview at the NFL Scouting Combine last month.
Samuel ran a what you could call the quietest 4.31 40-yard dash ever recorded as his blazing attempt was right after Washington wide receiver John Ross broke the Combine record with a 4.22, so many people didn’t even notice. Samuel’s 37-inch vertical jump and 9-foot, 9-inch broad jump were also near the top of his position group.
Samuels is a tweener prospect right now, as some seem to like the idea of him playing slot wider receiver, others like the idea of him out of the backfield (he weighs in at 5-foot-11, 196 pounds). In 2016, he accumulated 771 rushing yards and 865 receiving yards with 15 total touchdowns, and was a player Buckeyes head coach Urban Meyer compared to Percy Harvin in terms of ability with the ball in his hands.
Whatever he’s going to be in the NFL, the Buccaneers are certainly interested. When it comes to becoming more dynamic on offense, as head coach Dirk Koetter has stated he would like the team to be, few players in the draft can do that more than Samuel can.
