One day before veterans are reporting to training camp, the Bucs have placed edge rusher Jason Pierre-Paul on the Active/NFI list on Wednesday.
Pierre-Paul is recovering from a fractured vertebrae that he suffered from a car accident in May. He’s been seen still wearing a neck brace, and chose to rehab the injury without surgery.
If he is able to return to the field this year, the earliest at best would be in late September or October. By placing him on Active/NFI, he remains on the team roster and the Bucs are responsible for his salary. He can be taken off the list at anytime by the end of the preseason when the 53-man roster is made.
Jason Pierre-Paul has been placed on the active/non-football injury list.
