The Bucs signed Richard Sherman before Week 4, and the cornerback was quickly thrust into action. Sherman played all but one snap against New England a couple days later, then started against Miami and Philadelphia. A few plays into the game against the Eagles, Sherman pulled his hamstring. The veteran was quickly ruled out for the remainder of the game.
Sherman hasn’t played since the injury, leaving the Bucs thin at cornerback. Carlton Davis and Sean Murphy-Bunting have spent much of the season on injured reserve, while Dee Delaney missed the last game with an ankle injury. But on Monday, Arians had good news on Sherman’s status for Week 10.
“He’s in really good shape now,” Arians said. “He really didn’t need to play in [the Saints game]. So we’re fortunate he didn’t have to. He should be up and ready to roll [this week].”

Sherman generated mixed reviews in his two games this season. His athleticism seems mostly zapped, but he’s still cerebral and physical enough for the position. Penalties and missed tackles could be a concern if he can’t match receivers movement skills, however.
The Bucs are hoping none of that matters. Murphy-Bunting is in the second week of his practice window to return to action, and Davis should be back soon. Jamel Dean has been excellent over the past month, and Ross Cockrell remains a steady option in the slot. Even the relatively unknown Delaney, who should be back this week as well, has been solid. When Davis returns, Sherman could be a healthy scratch on game days.
