With the NFL shortening their preseason to three games, managing when to play a team’s starters for live in-game reps will be different than in past years. Bruce Arians said on Monday that all of the starters on the Bucs roster will be playing when the team opens the preseason on Saturday, August 14, at home against the Cincinnati Bengals.
“Everybody will play,” Arians said. “Don’t know how much, but everybody will play. The Titans, going against them for two practices will determine how that is as far as who plays in that one. And the last one they’ll play a bunch.”
If you thought you would have to wait to see the likes of Tom Brady, Mike Evans and Lavonte David, think again. The Bucs will get right back into it with their top players, rather than giving them a game off before returning to the field for the 2021 season ahead.
When asked to clarify if Brady will also play this Saturday, Arians reaffirmed as much.
“Oh yeah,” Arians said. “Everybody will play.”
Arians says everyone will play in the first preseason game, including Tom Brady.

All three of the Bucs’ preseason games are on Saturdays, going on August 14, 21 and 28. They’ll start at home against the Bengals and Titans, followed by a road game against the Texans. Then the regular season gets started on Thursday, September 9, when the Dallas Cowboys come to town.
