After suffering a concussion that has held left guard Ali Marpet out of the Bucs’ last two contests against the Saints and Panthers, he was at practice on Thursday.
While a return to practice is a positive sign toward Marpet’s return for Monday Night Football against the Rams in Week 11, Marpet remains in the league’s concussion protocol with symptoms that Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times has reported as “general fogginess.”
Arians provided an update on Marpet’s status during his media availability on Thursday, noting that the Bucs’ veteran guard was a full participant but added that they’ll likely know more about his potential availability on Friday.
“He was a full participant in practice but he is still in the protocol,” Arians said. “We still have to wait until tomorrow to see if anything effects him after the practice. So we’ll know a little bit more tomorrow, hopefully.”
Should Marpet be forced to miss his third consecutive game with the injury, expect Tampa Bay to repeat their Week 10 deployment of veteran A.Q. Shipley at center with starter Ryan Jensen moving over to left guard.
