The rumors about Antonio Brown coming to the Bucs can be put to rest, because it’s not happening. Bruce Arians squashed the chances of that possibility when he appeared on the Tiki And Tierney radio show on Thursday, saying Brown just wouldn’t be a fit.
“Yeah, that’s not gonna happen,” Arians said during the show. “There’s no room. It’s just not a fit here. I just know him and it’s not a fit in our locker room.”
There had been reports circulating before Tom Brady signed with the Bucs that he wanted Brown to play with him wherever he went. Since the Bucs are without a third wide receiver at the moment, he could technically be a fit, but the Bucs’ salary cap is dwindling after re-signing most of their players, including Ndamukong Suh on Wednesday, which made the practicality of deal unlikely.
It’s also uncertain if Brown could even play this season as he is under the investigation from the NFL for two sexual assault accusations along with a battery and burglary arrest. He could potentially be facing suspension if he signs with a team.
Brown hasn’t seen eye-to-eye with Arians in the past, such as when he called out Arians on instagram in 2018. Arians was Brown’s offensive coordinator on the Steelers for the 2010 and 2011 seasons.
