The Line: Bucs – 7, Over/Under 49.5

You don’t need the stats or highlight videos to know how big of a game this is. Tom Brady makes his return to New England. He’ll have the unique opportunity to beat all 32 teams in his storied career. This is more than just a typical game.

For that reason, I’m betting on the emotional aspect of what’s going down on Sunday night. He won’t say it out loud, but I have a feeling Brady really wants to win convincingly over Bill Belichick and his old team. Really stick it to them. The Bucs were 4-1 following a loss last season, and there’s no way a fired-up Brady is letting the Bucs lose this one. It’s unfortunate that Rob Gronkowski won’t be playing, but it does help a lot that Antonio Brown is back this week. The Patriots defense is good, but it can only slow down the Bucs offense for so long.

As abysmal as the Bucs defense has been, I think this is the week that they start to turn things around. They are banged up in the secondary, but Mac Jones throws a very interceptable ball.  I expect that at least one turnover will be created by the defense, setting up the offense with a short field.

The Bucs need to do a better job covering the spread, as they’re just 1-2 on the season. However, the Patriots share that same record and are 0-2 at home. I’m not predicting a blowout here, but the Bucs are efficient enough to pull ahead comfortably, giving Tom Brady a win against every team in the league.

The Pick: Bucs – 7

Now let’s check out the game within the game, the prop bets section for Sunday Night Football.

Prop Bets:

First Scoring Play: Bucs TD (+140)

It’s a safe bet that the Bucs won’t be settling for field goals. I imagine the Bucs will get the ball first and drive directly down the field to set the tone early.

Tom Brady Over 306. 5 Passing Yards (-114)

Brady has been a monster in the passing game, averaging 362 yards per game on the season. We’re looking at another game where he’ll most likely be attempting 40 passes, so it’s quite possible those numbers will continue to stack up.

Antonio Brown TD (+140)

People might forget that this is a revenge game for Antonio Brown, too. He had a great first game and a quiet second game before missing Week 3. Brady particularly looks for the deep ball with Brown. They’ll hit one on Sunday night.

Antonio Brown Over 55.5 Receiving Yards (-114)

Brown’s a passionate guy that plays with a lot of emotion. He’ll want to show up big against Belichick and help Brady be successful in his return. With the Patriots planning to stop Chris Godwin over the middle, it opens things up for Brown in the Bucs offense. Expect a big game.
