The availability of two very important starters for the Bucs is in flux for Sunday. Starting left tackle Donovan Smith and wide receiver Chris Godwin both did not practice at all this week. Does that mean they’re officially out for the game against the Saints?
Not necessarily, according to Bucs head coach Todd Bowles.
It wasn’t the most resounding endorsement of a possibility to play. But Bowles left the door open for both players to be a game-time decision.
“Donovan will be close,” Bowles said of Smith. “It’ll be hard for him to make it, but we’ll see. The rest of the guys we’ll see on Sunday.”

Smith hyper-extended his elbow in the first half when blocking Cowboys Pro Bowler Micah Parsons and did not return. Though he didn’t practice, he was seen in the locker room hanging out with other players and did join to watch his teammates practice on Friday.
Good news for the #Bucs as WRs Mike Evans and Julio Jones were at practice today. Russell Gage practiced again as well.
CB Zyon McCollum practiced for the 2nd day in a row.

Bowles Gives Slim Chance For Bucs WR Godwin

Bowles was less optimistic about Godwin, who suffered a hamstring injury on Sunday night in his first game back from a torn ACL. Luckily the hamstring issue is not as severe as initially thought. It is a separate injury from his surgically-repaired knee.
“He’s in play by a small margin, but we’ll see on Sunday,” Bowles said. “If I had to guess I’d say he wouldn’t be.”
In the words of Lloyd Christmas from the movie “Dumb and Dumber” – “So, you’re telling me there’s a chance!”
The Bucs play their second road game of the season when they travel to play against the Saints at 1:00 PM ET in a divisional matchup.
