Ian Rapoport reported on Sunday that the Cleveland Browns are hiring the Buccaneers’ former offensive coordinator Todd Monken.

His hiring comes as no surprise after Monken landed on a head coach candidate list created by the NFL’s Career Development Advisory Panel last month and was recently the target of numerous head coaching interviews. Monken was in strong consideration for the Jets head coaching job before New York selected Adam Gase.
The 2018 Buccaneers had the league’s top passing offense under Monken at 320.3 passing yards per game, and the league’s third-highest offense at 415.5 yards of total offense per game.
Monken will join defensive coordinator Steve Wilks on staff with the Browns’ newly-hired head coach, Freddie Kitchens.
