Finally, the Bucs have received some good injury news. Wide receiver Breshad Perriman is off the COVID list and will play this week against the Jets. Perriman was placed on the COVID list the day before the Bucs matchup against the Saints. Many believed he would clear protocol by Week 16, but Perriman remained out against the Panthers.

The veteran will likely step in as the team’s No. 3 receiver if Mike Evans returns this week. Without Evans, Perriman, Chris Godwin or Jaelon Darden, other receivers stepped up on Sunday. Wide receiver Cyril Grayson played a career-high 53 snaps and caught three passes for 81 yards. But if Perriman, Evans and Darden all play this week, Grayson could be inactive again.
Perriman hasn’t been overly productive in games he’s appeared in this season. He has nine targets, two drops and just four catches on the year. However, one of those was a 58-yard score against Buffalo in overtime. If Perriman can step up, it would finally given the Bucs another consistent receiver outside of Brown and Evans. That might be important in the playoffs with Godwin out.
The Bucs return to action on Sunday against the New York Jets in Week 17.
